Privacy

Short version: no cookies, no advertising trackers, and we never sell or share your data for marketing.

Who is responsible

František Mlčůch, č.p. 176, 257 24 Chocerady, Czech Republic, IČO 07783795 (the "controller"). Contact: hello@thediaryofaeuropoor.com.

What we collect and why

  • Newsletter. Your e-mail address, the time you signed up and confirmed, and a one-way hash of your IP address as proof of consent. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Kept until you unsubscribe; proof of consent for 3 years after that.
  • Letters and partner enquiries. What you write in the form, and your name and e-mail if you give them. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you and, for sponsorship, steps before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)). Kept for up to 3 years, or longer if a contract follows.
  • Server logs and statistics. Our host keeps short-lived technical logs. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.
  • Puzzle progress. Stored only in your own browser (local storage). It never reaches us.

Who processes data for us

  • Cloudflare, Inc.: hosting, security and visitor statistics.
  • Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.): sending e-mails and managing the newsletter list.
  • Seznam.cz, a.s.: our mailboxes.

Cloudflare and Resend are US companies. Transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw consent at any time (every newsletter has an unsubscribe link). Write to hello@thediaryofaeuropoor.com. You may also complain to the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ), www.uoou.gov.cz.
